City Front Garden
We were called in to this house when the builders were finishing, and as you can see there was a bit to do! Our brief was to make a charming front garden that could be really enjoyed with its sunny aspect, even though it is by the road. It needed to have a parking space, but we wanted it to be inviting, not just a space to the side of where you parked the car.
We also had to design new stone steps up to the house with walls either side, matching all the materials very carefully. Luck found us some Victorian glazed tiles for the entrance, and I think from the picture you can see that the result is very successful!
The photograph of the finished garden shows the transformation from destruction and chaos into a delightful and very sunny favourite spot. We also planted crab apples for their beautiful spring blossom and foliage, and glacé cherry like fruits which stay until late winter when the hungry blackbirds enjoy them most!
